JENNIFER RALEIGH SCHWARTZ
Archives & Special Collections
Library Professional, Writer
I am a librarian, archivist, and artist dedicated to preserving the physical format through conservation work, public outreach, and education. Combining my training in technical treatments for paper and bound materials with experience in community outreach, I have created exhibits and refined LibGuides aimed at helping educate others on materials in special collections. In my current role as a middle school librarian, my work encompasses playfulness aimed at breaking down accessibility barriers while engaging research and library resources. My written work has been published in literary journals and books. My co-authored chapter, "Why DIY?: exploring motivations for marginalized communities to participate in DIY publishing," was published in the book, Art at the Intersection of Librarianship and Social Justice in December, 2024.
